A nationwide campaign called “Reception on the Road” is underway in Akmola region, where police officers step out of their offices to directly engage with citizens, address pressing issues, and improve road safety.
On October 3–4, mobile receptions were held in 20 settlements across the region. Residents had the chance to ask questions, receive consultations, and even propose ideas to improve police work.
One of the first tangible results was the installation of new traffic signs in Kokshetau. By popular demand, pedestrian crossing signs were placed on Dmitriev Street 21, and a “No Entry” sign was added on Vernadsky Street 8.
Police officials noted that such changes are carried out not only in response to citizen requests but also based on road accident analysis.
In addition to setting up signs, patrol police intensified their efforts: special raids were organized to check drivers’ conditions—fatigue, attention, and general behavior on the road.
The campaign sparked significant public interest. On the first day alone, over 600 people joined the police department’s Instagram live stream, while around 1,000 citizens attended the offline receptions.
The most common topics raised were fine payments, fraud prevention (including SMS scams), and migration issues—over 100 applications. Road traffic organization was another hot issue, with 417 appeals submitted. The hotline also registered about 50 calls.
According to the regional police department, “Reception on the Road” is not being held for the first time in Akmola region and has already become a good tradition. It not only helps solve urgent problems faster but also strengthens public trust, proving that the service truly works for and with the people.
