In Kokshetau, the training of skilled workers is gaining new momentum following the declaration of the Year of Vocational Professions in Kazakhstan. Demand for technical specialties is growing, and with it, the role of vocational and technical educational institutions is increasing. One of the leaders in this field is the Higher Technical College of Kokshetau, which today prepares specialists ready to integrate into real production environments immediately after graduation, according to the official website of the Department of Internal Policy of Akmola Region.
Here, the educational process is built not only on state standards but also with a strong focus on practical skills. Modern laboratories, competence centers, and the introduction of a dual education system allow students to combine theory with hands-on practice at enterprises.
“Our goal is to graduate in-demand specialists who are ready to start working from day one. To achieve this, we create conditions as close as possible to real production,” the college administration emphasizes.
The college cooperates with more than 70 enterprises in the region, offering students broad opportunities for internships and subsequent employment. Among its social partners are leading companies in construction, energy, engineering, and information technology.
“Enterprises give students the chance to work on real projects, which makes them competitive and highly sought-after,” explains the college’s production training methodologist.
A vivid example of successful collaboration is the partnership with the Kazakhstan Agrarian Innovation Corporation LLP. The company annually employs up to 80% of the college’s graduates.
“We need qualified specialists, and the college has become a reliable partner. Students come for internships, and most of them stay to work with us. Today, about 360 people are employed at the enterprise, including around 30 young specialists – machinists, welders, and other skilled workers,” said Kairat Dyussenbekov, head of the company’s production department.
Particular attention at the college is paid to motivating students. They are provided with scholarships, social benefits, and the opportunity to participate in prestigious competitions. Regular victories at the WorldSkills Championship confirm the high level of training and the effectiveness of the educational system.
Young specialists from Kokshetau not only represent the region with dignity at the national level but also demonstrate that vocational professions are becoming increasingly prestigious and in demand.
